Get to Know Emily

The person behind the approach.

Emily’s approach was shaped by her own experience with hormonal acne and fifteen years of listening closely to clients. Here, she shares why personalized care, honest conversations, and returning to the essentials guide everything she does.

What makes you different?

I actually take the time to get to know your skin and your life before I make a plan. I learn about your lifestyle, diet, age, medications, health history, and the factors that may be influencing your skin. From there, I curate a highly specific regimen that is customizable and unique to your needs, then follow you through the journey. It’s not a cookie-cutter skin treatment—it’s about my technique and approach, and making the plan truly personal.

I don’t believe in 10-step regimens or one-size-fits-all solutions. Everyone’s skin is unique, but at the end of the day, it often comes down to returning to the basics and focusing on the essentials that matter most.

“It’s not a cookie-cutter skin treatment.”

Why did you become interested in acne?

When I was 22, I started struggling with hormonal breakouts that would fluctuate. It wasn’t until later that I learned the underlying cause was endometriosis. It was frustrating because so many of the approaches at the time were boilerplate and overly drying. No one was really talking about digestion, diet, or balancing topical care with what was happening internally.

It can be especially frustrating because acne is so often framed as a teenage issue, while many adults experience it for the first time because of systemic changes. I know how debilitating that can feel. That experience led me to study nutrition, diet, exercise, comedogenic ingredients, skin types, and different forms of acne. Having struggled with it myself, I became passionate about helping other people through it.

What do you think people misunderstand about acne?

Acne can be deeply debilitating. It can affect how someone feels about dating, showing up at work, presenting in a client-facing role, or simply moving through everyday life. When you don’t feel good about your skin, it can touch almost every part of your confidence.

When your skin begins to improve, you present differently in the world. I’ve seen clients feel more confident at work, more comfortable approaching people, and more willing to go on dates. The impact can be deeper than people imagine.

“When you start to feel more confident, you present differently in the world.”

What should a new client know before coming in for a consultation?

At our first meeting, we’ll talk about the whole picture—your skin, your life, and what may be influencing both.

Your skin
What you’re experiencing now, what’s changed, and what you’d love to improve.
Your routine
What you use, what you’ve tried, what’s helped—and what definitely hasn’t.
Your health + history
Hormones, medications, allergies, health history, and other factors that may be showing up in your skin.
Your everyday life
Diet, stress, exercise, environment, and the routines that actually need to work in your real life.
Your goals
What matters to you, how you want to feel in your skin, and what you realistically want to take on.

Getting familiar with the big picture gives us a much stronger place to start. From there, we can thoughtfully step it up.
